Your fake life on social media put us in this mess” – Kidnapped billionaire’s daughter accuses brother over ₦1.5bn ransom
Blessing Ezeokafor, daughter of Chief Joseph Ezeokafor—the chairman of Jezco Group—has publicly accused her younger brother, popular socialite Jowizaza, of escalating their father’s kidnapping ordeal through his online displays of wealth.
In a series of posts published on Facebook, Blessing claimed that Jowizaza’s public lifestyle created a false impression of immense family riches, leading the abductors to hike their ransom demand from ₦700 million to ₦1.5 billion.
Allegations of debt and false wealth representation
According to Blessing, the family’s true financial status is far from the luxurious image portrayed on social media platforms.
She alleged that the business is currently burdened by massive institutional debt:
“Jowizaza, my brother, you are the cause of this madness. Social media noise when we don’t have that money. You use audio money to make hoodlums think the money is available… Making noise when we are owing banks ₦40 billion, and these people think the money is there. Fake life, claiming what we don’t have,” Blessing said.
She further stated that if any harm comes to their father, she will hold her brother personally responsible.
Direct appeal to kidnappers and family dynamics
In addition to criticising her brother’s social media presence, Blessing claimed that Jowizaza had previously been removed from his position as a director in their father’s company and placed on a fixed monthly salary of ₦1 million.
Blessing made a direct plea to the abductors to reduce their demands and safely release their father, reiterating that the family is in no position to pay the requested sum:
She appealed directly to the kidnappers, stating that the family does not possess the cash reserves implied online and is struggling under heavy debt.
Blessing also urged the abductors to spare Chief Joseph Ezeokafor’s life and negotiate based on reality rather than social media perception.
The public breakdown of the family’s situation continues to generate significant attention online as efforts to secure Chief Ezeokafor’s safe release remain ongoing.
The billionaire was kidnapped in a bush where he had allegedly gone to pray.
