Media personality and broadcaster, Teddy Don-Momoh, has been thrown into mourning again following the death of his wife, Omolara Kudayisi Don-Momoh, popularly known as Coach Lara.

The tragic incident occurred on Sunday, August 2, 2026, coming just two weeks after the couple welcomed their first child together, a baby girl.

The family confirmed the development in a statement published on the deceased’s verified Instagram page on Monday.

“It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend, Lara Kudayisi Don-Momoh,” the statement read. “After a brief illness, Coach Lara passed away peacefully.”

The family appealed for privacy and prayers as they navigate the loss, adding that funeral arrangements would be announced in due course.

A second personal tragedy for the broadcaster

The demise of Coach Lara marks the second time the media personality has lost a spouse, coming 12 years after the death of his first wife, the late gospel music icon, Kefee Obareki Momoh.

Don-Momoh and Kefee were married in 2012. However, the gospel singer collapsed aboard a flight to Chicago in May 2014 and subsequently slipped into a coma.

She passed away on June 12, 2014, at a hospital in Los Angeles, California, due to lung failure.

Following Kefee’s passing, Don-Momoh remained single for nearly a decade before tying the knot with Omolara, a prominent relationship expert and executive coach, in April 2023.

Sadly, three years later, Omolara is also late.

Tributes flood social media

The news of Coach Lara’s sudden death has sparked an outpouring of grief across social media, with colleagues, public figures, and well-wishers expressing condolences to the bereaved broadcaster.

Many observers noted the painful timing of the loss, coming at a moment when the couple was still celebrating the birth of their newborn child.

Security and welfare support measures have since been rallied around the family as they prepare for the burial proceedings
