A 25-year-old man, Salman Mirza, died from severe health complications after using a powerful adhesive resin as a makeshift birth control method during an encounter with his former fiancée at a local hotel.
The deceased was found unconscious in an outdoor area near the Amber Hotel in the Juhapura district of Ahmedabad, a day after checking in.
He was rushed to a nearby medical facility, where he subsequently succumbed to multiple organ failure.
Misuse of industrial adhesive
According to local police reports, Mirza and his partner checked into the hotel on June 22. Investigators revealed that both individuals were under the influence of substances and had been inhaling adhesive fumes prior to the incident.
When the couple decided to engage in sexual activity without access to conventional protection, they reportedly applied strong epoxy resin to seal his genitals to prevent pregnancy.
“Since they did not have any protection, they decided to apply the adhesive… to ensure that she does not get pregnant,” a senior police official stated following initial inquiries.
Police investigation and family allegations
Following Mirza’s death, his family voiced suspicions surrounding the circumstances, alleging that his ex-partner applied the toxic substance.
They subsequently lodged a complaint with local law enforcement requesting a murder investigation.
Samples taken during the autopsy have been submitted for comprehensive forensic testing to verify the exact physiological cause of death.
Security footage confirmed that Mirza entered the hotel premises with his former fiancée and another companion on June 22, before being found the following day outside.
Medical examiners discovered traces of an unidentified green substance in the deceased’s abdominal region during initial procedures.
Authorities emphasised that while forensic analysis is ongoing, preliminary findings indicate that severe health complications caused by substance intoxication and chemical exposure contributed directly to fatal organ failure.
Mirza was the primary financial provider for his household, supporting two sisters and his elderly parents.
Detective officers continue to analyse forensic evidence to determine if formal criminal charges will be filed.
