Canada-based prophetess Ezinne Nwanorue apologises to husband after celebrating mother-in-law’s death
Canada-based Nigerian cleric, Prophetess Ezinne Maryjane Nwanorue, has issued a public video apology to her husband, Franklin Chimaobim Nwanorue, following severe backlash over a Facebook post where she celebrated the death of her late mother-in-law, Comfort Chika Nwanorue.
The apology comes after Ezinne posted the late matriarch’s funeral banner online, referring to her as a “wicked witch” and declaring that she would “rest in pieces in hell”.
In a newly released video addressed directly to her spouse, the prophetess expressed remorse for her actions and asked for forgiveness.
“I am making this video to apologise to my husband; I should not have done that. I am apologising for what I did, and I know and hope my husband forgives me for that,” she stated in the recording. “Honey, I am very sorry for posting your mother on Facebook. And I ask for forgiveness, thank you so much.”
Ezinne Nwanorue and her controversial post
In her initial Facebook post that triggered widespread public outcry, Ezinne claimed victory over alleged spiritual enemies within her husband’s family.
“One wicked witch is down: my dead mother-in-law, Comfort Chika Nwanorue, rest in pieces in hell with other dead witches; your members will soon join you,” she wrote. “I am the weapon fashioned against all the witches and wizards… You people should repent now and accept Christ; if not, you won’t escape the judgment of death from my hands, in Jesus’ name.”
She added that her late mother-in-law and in-laws had worked to bring down her destiny, claiming that as a prophetess, she was operating in a “season of manifestation” against her opponents.
History of viral marital drama
The couple previously drew attention across social media after Ezinne made her husband’s relocation to Canada conditional on him swearing a public oath of marital fidelity on camera.
In that viral clip, Franklin agreed to the condition, stating on camera: “I confess, and I promise that if I come to Canada and cheat on you, let me die in the name of Jesus.”
However, Ezinne later accused him in a subsequent online outburst of breaching that oath by sleeping with another woman after arriving in Canada.
Her latest public apology marks the newest turn in the couple’s ongoing online saga.
