The recent collapse of the NRC Ponzi scheme has left many Nigerian investors in financial ruin, including a devastated woman who secretly invested her husband’s funds into the fraudulent platform.

In a viral video shared on her TikTok account (@asa-gkt), the heartbroken woman expressed her profound distress and confusion over the sudden crash of the fake investment scheme.

“I am finished” — Devastated TikToker seeks answers

In the emotional clip, the TikToker revealed her current predicament, stating that she is terrified and unsure of how to break the news to her spouse.

While she refrained from disclosing the exact amount of money lost, her desperation was palpable as she called on other victims for updates and advice.

“How many of you did NRC? Any update? I’m finished. My husband’s money is gone. NRC has finished me ooo. God abeg ooo, I don’t know how I’m going to explain that. I’m finished. I’m gone,” she lamented in the video.

Netizens react to the NRC collapse

The video has since sparked a wave of reactions across social media, with many users sharing their own losses or criticising the recurring trend of Ponzi schemes in Nigeria.

The comment section painted a grim picture of the widespread impact of the crash:

@Chi Cindy: “My aunty own is 22m gone; she even borrowed from people to invest in it.”

@Tech_bae: “It was written in Capital letters (NRC)- No Refunding Cash.”

@presh ni: “I did and collected 67k interest.”

@Arisco tuzzy: “This is very heartbreaking.”

As financial regulators continue to warn citizens against high-yield, unregulated investment platforms, the fallout from the NRC crash serves as yet another harsh reminder of the dangers of quick-money schemes.
