
A young tech innovator, Khalifa Aminu, has developed an advanced, artificial intelligence-powered tracking device designed to monitor the real-time locations of children, vehicles, and livestock globally.
The developer, identified as Khalifa Aminu, unveiled the prototype of his Smart AI Tracking System on X (formerly Twitter).
Having built the device within his local workshop, Aminu is currently seeking strategic investments and corporate collaborations to downsize, refine, and mass-produce the technology.
Beyond traditional GPS: How the AI security system works
Unlike conventional tracking hardware that merely transmits coordinates, Aminu’s invention integrates global positioning systems (GPS), cellular SIM cards, and machine learning algorithms to evaluate behavioural telemetry.
The onboard AI functions by establishing a baseline of daily routines. It actively studies regular commuting routes, standard travel distances, and behavioural patterns. When an anomaly occurs, the system transitions from passive monitoring to active threat detection.
“The AI inside it learns the usual routes, observes distance, and detects any unusual changes,” Aminu explained. “If a child is kidnapped and taken somewhere unfamiliar… It will activate an alarm, send the location instantly, and give a warning that a child has been kidnapped.”
The inventor noted that this predictive capability is equally effective for the agricultural sector. The tracker can be attached to livestock, such as cattle, to instantly alert farmers if animals are being rustled or have wandered off.
Inventor calls for investment to scale production
While the software and core sensor arrays are fully operational, Aminu admitted that the physical prototype remains relatively bulky due to the extensive number of hardware modules and sensors packed inside.
He is calling on tech hubs, venture capitalists, and manufacturing firms to partner with him to optimise the form factor and launch it commercially.
“Built this from my small workshop. I want to improve it and start production, but that won’t be possible without your support,” Aminu stated, urging the online community to amplify his project to potential investors.
The breakthrough arrives at a crucial time when tech-driven security measures are in high demand across Nigeria to combat rising cases of abduction and asset theft.
