‘I forgave her after catching her with side dudes, now it’s over’, man ends marriage on Facebook

A Nigerian man, Oryiman Emmanuel Ubur, has publicly declared that his marriage is over, accusing his wife, Nguseer Tyoungwa, of repeatedly abandoning him and their four children.
In a Facebook post shared on Thursday, June 4, 2026, Ubur alleged that his wife had left the family multiple times, including an incident where she reportedly abandoned their seven-month-old baby for months.
He claimed that despite her repeated departures, he often searched for her and brought her back home, saying he did so out of love for both her and their children. However, he said the situation eventually became unbearable.
According to him, he had on several occasions found her in what he described as “wrong places,” including being with another man, yet still tried to reconcile with her and keep the family together.
Ubur further alleged that his wife frequently ignored his calls during her absences and showed little concern for their children, leaving him to care for them alone.
He also stated that the situation worsened after his university graduation, adding that she recently left their children in Byepye, Wukari Local Government Area of Taraba State, before moving to Kyado, where she allegedly refused to return despite his attempts to reach her.
In the emotional post, he announced that he could no longer continue the relationship, writing that he was formally ending the union and no longer considered her his life partner.
Social media reactions to the post have been sharply divided, with many users expressing strong criticism of the man’s actions, while others advised restraint and a more spiritual approach to the situation.
Several commenters questioned why he repeatedly went back to reconcile with his wife despite the alleged pattern of abandonment, arguing that it may have encouraged further disregard for the marriage.
Others were more direct in their criticism, describing his repeated attempts to bring her back as a sign of poor judgment and emotional weakness.
Some users also mocked his public disclosure, suggesting that the situation reflected badly on his dignity and family life.
However, a minority of commenters took a different tone, urging a more conciliatory or faith-based response.
One user suggested that the situation called for prayer and spiritual intervention, rather than public condemnation, indicating the mixed sentiments the story has generated online.
