A Nigerian woman, Chiamaka Godswill, has shared a disturbing account of how a man allegedly followed and harassed her during her morning exercise in Enugu State.
The incident reportedly occurred on Sunday morning, May 24, 2026, around the Okpara Square axis in Independence Layout, a popular area used by residents for jogging and walking.
According to her account shared online, the woman said she was on a routine morning run when she noticed a man trailing her along the sidewalk while she listened to music.
She alleged that the situation escalated when the man began making sexually explicit remarks and later issued threats of sexual violence as he continued following her.
She further claimed that the man followed her into a quieter section near Okpara Square, where the environment becomes more isolated at certain hours.
In her narration, she stated that the suspect became increasingly aggressive and exposed himself during the encounter, leaving her deeply distressed.
Chiamaka Godswill described the incident as traumatic, saying she had gone out to clear her head but instead experienced a frightening and violating situation.
She also expressed concern about women’s safety in public spaces, noting that the experience left her feeling unsafe and unsettled.
