President Bola Ahmed Tinubu recorded an overwhelming victory during the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primary election conducted in Ward L2 of Eti-Osa Local Government Area, Lagos State.
The primary election took place at Ireti Nursery and Primary School in the Ikoyi area of Lagos, where party members turned out in large numbers to participate in the direct voting exercise aimed at selecting the APC’s presidential candidate for the 2027 general election.
Tinubu, who is seeking another term under the APC platform, contested against businessman Sterlyn Osifo. At the end of voting, the President secured 4,996 votes from a total of 5,163 accredited voters in the ward, giving him a commanding lead in the exercise.
The voting process was conducted under heavy security presence, with party supporters and political stakeholders gathering at the venue from the early hours of the day.
Among the top APC figures present to observe the exercise were Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Wale Edun, APC Lagos chairman Cornelius Ojelabi, and party leader Kola Peregrino.
President Tinubu reportedly arrived at the polling venue shortly after the accreditation process had been completed.
Before voting commenced, Ojelabi praised party members for maintaining order throughout the exercise and described the process as peaceful and organised. He also urged supporters to continue backing the APC ahead of the 2027 elections.
The final result was announced by ward returning officer Martha Adikwu, who confirmed Tinubu’s decisive victory in the ward.
The outcome has triggered reactions online, with supporters describing the result as a show of Tinubu’s continued dominance within the APC, particularly in Lagos, his long-time political base.
