A woman, Amarachi Promise, in Rivers State, has lamented that her alarm goes off each morning, but there are no kids to prepare for school after her three children were crushed in their home by a woman being taught to drive by her boyfriend.
According to the bereaved mother, the children, aged 10, 4 and 3, were playing in front of their compound when the woman veered completely off the road and smashed them against a shop in front of their residence.
In a viral video shared on social media, the devastated mother tearfully narrated her ordeal, saying she personally carried her children’s lifeless bodies from the accident scene.
The grieving woman also spoke about the painful reality she now faces daily, revealing that her alarm still goes off every morning for school preparations even though her children are no longer alive.
“My alarm still rings for school, but there are no children to dress anymore,” she lamented in the video.
She called on relevant authorities and members of the public to ensure those responsible are held accountable.
In a separate video by the Police Public Relations Officer in Rivers, Assistant Superintendent of Police Agabe Blessing Kaborlo, said the police are already on the case and would not allow it to be swept under the carpet.
She said the matter was not being taken lightly and that investigations had already commenced. The PPRO conveyed the condolences of the Commissioner of Police, Olugbenga Adepoju to the bereaved family.
She also assured the public that justice would prevail in the case.
