The Metropolitan Police Service has charged a second teenager in connection with the fatal shooting of 14-year-old British-Nigerian, Eghosa Ogbebor, in Woolwich, London.
According to police, the latest suspect, a 15-year-old boy whose identity was withheld for legal reasons, was arrested on May 6 and later charged with murder.
Authorities said the teenager is expected to appear before Barkingside Youth Court as investigations into the killing continue.
Eghosa was shot dead on April 2 after officers responded to reports of gunfire on Lord Warwick Street in Woolwich at about 3:40 pm.
Police said emergency responders, including paramedics from the London Ambulance Service, attended the scene and found the teenager with severe gunshot injuries. He was later confirmed dead at the scene.
The development marks the second murder charge connected to the case after a 16-year-old boy from Romford was earlier charged in April and remanded in custody.
The Metropolitan Police also disclosed that several other suspects arrested during the investigation, including a 19-year-old man, a 46-year-old man, two teenage boys, and an 18-year-old man, have been released on bail pending further enquiries.
Police added that specially trained officers continue to support the family of the deceased as the investigation remains ongoing.
