Tragedy has struck in Lagos following the alleged kidnapping and killing of a 17-year-old student, identified as Thompson Adams Omokafe.

Reports indicate that the teenager was lured to an apartment by two individuals said to be his classmates, identified as Elijah Emmanuel and Tony Ogenata, under false pretences.

Authorities believe the crime occurred at the apartment, after which the victim’s body was reportedly dumped in a canal in the Awoyaya area.

Investigations further revealed that the suspects allegedly demanded a ransom of ₦150 million from the victim’s family. However, only ₦200,000 was said to have been paid before the situation escalated tragically.

Law enforcement officials later apprehended the suspects in Ikorodu, and investigations into the case are ongoing.

The bereaved family has called for justice, urging authorities to ensure that those responsible are held accountable.

They also appealed to the public to raise awareness about the risks of such crimes, particularly among young people.

The incident has triggered widespread reactions on social media, with many expressing shock over the alleged involvement of individuals who were once close to the victim.

Calls for stronger measures to combat kidnapping and youth-related violence have intensified in response.
