A young husband, Ryan Hosso, has reportedly shot his wife dead before allegedly taking his own life as well in Pennsylvania, United States of America, less than two years after their wedding.
According to the Pennsylvania State Police, 26-year-old Ryan Hosso allegedly shot his wife, 25-year-old Madeline Spatafore, at their home in Butler before later taking his own life.
Sequence of events
Investigators say the incident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday. Hosso reportedly contacted his parents shortly after the shooting, during which he admitted to harming his wife and expressed distress.
His parents subsequently alerted authorities around 1:15 a.m., prompting an emergency response.
When officers arrived at the residence, Spatafore was found unresponsive inside the home. A search operation was then launched, and Hosso’s body was later located in nearby woods with the aid of aerial surveillance tools.

Police confirmed that Spatafore suffered multiple gunshot wounds, while Hosso had a single fatal injury. Authorities are yet to establish a motive for the incident, and investigations remain ongoing.
Background
The couple, who were reportedly high school sweethearts, got married in 2024 and lived in the Butler area, not far from where they both attended school.
