Swede Control Intertek Limited (SCIL) has reaffirmed its commitment to strategic transformation, operational excellence, and stronger collaboration following the successful conclusion of its 2026 Executive Retreat.

The two-day retreat, which brought together key members of the leadership team and strategic business unit heads, served as a platform for critical reflection, alignment, and forward planning as the organisation positions itself for greater impact within Nigeria’s inspection and certification sector.

In his opening address, the Managing Director, Folarin Familusi, set a deliberate tone for the retreat, emphasising that the gathering was not a response to failure but a proactive step toward sustained growth and relevance.

“I did not call you here because things are broken. I called you here because things matter,” he stated.

He challenged participants to move beyond functional leadership and adopt an enterprise-wide mindset, urging them to think and act as custodians of the entire organisation rather than individual departments.

According to him, the retreat was designed to encourage honest conversations, challenge entrenched assumptions, and strengthen collaboration across teams.

He stressed the importance of candour, noting that “candour is not disloyalty; it is commitment to this organisation.”

Familusi further outlined a clear vision for 2026, projecting SCIL as a trusted strategic partner in Nigeria’s supply chains rather than just a compliance service provider.

He also highlighted the need to bridge digital capability gaps, break down organisational silos, and reinforce the company’s reputation for professionalism, quality, and integrity.

Throughout the retreat, which was also attended by the company Chairman, Victor Faleye, and Executive Director, Isaac Ajana, participants engaged in intensive discussions around operational efficiency, strategic positioning, and innovation.

The sessions were structured to promote active participation, disciplined time management, and actionable outcomes.

Familusi stressed the importance of translating insights into measurable results, while also emphasising the need for agility and forward-thinking in an evolving business environment.

“This is not the end—it is a new beginning. A renewed commitment to excellence, to growth, and to delivering even greater value to our clients and stakeholders.”

He also expressed appreciation to the planning and coordination team for delivering a seamless and productive engagement.
