A court in Reading, Pennsylvania, has sentenced a man to three consecutive life terms after he admitted to killing a couple and their one-year-old child in a case that shocked the local community.
Jose Luis Rodriguez was handed the sentence after pleading guilty to three counts of first-degree murder, according to the Berks County District Attorney’s Office.
Authorities said the incident came to light on September 13, 2025, when 31-year-old Junior Cabrera-Colon was found dead.
Subsequent investigations revealed that his wife, Geraldina Peguero-Mancebo, and their infant son, Jeyden Peguero, had gone missing.
About a week later, the bodies of the woman and child were discovered in a wooded area. Prosecutors stated that the child was found partially submerged in a marshy location.
During court proceedings, prosecutors said Rodriguez confessed to carrying out all three killings.
He reportedly admitted to picking up Peguero-Mancebo and her child, after which he killed the mother and later caused the death of the toddler. Cabrera-Colon was also killed in a separate act.
According to the prosecution, each of the crimes was carefully planned and carried out with clear intent.
Investigators also disclosed that Rodriguez claimed he had some form of relationship with Peguero-Mancebo and cited financial disagreements as part of the motive.
Family members of the victims described the case as deeply painful, noting that while the sentencing does not erase their loss, it brings a sense of closure.
