The new mother, Blessing Isioma, challenges the hospital staff about her second baby

A heated confrontation has erupted between a woman, Blessing Isioma, and a private medical facility in the Ikotun area of Lagos following claims that one of her twins went missing after childbirth.

The incident, which gained attention after a video surfaced online on Wednesday, shows the woman—carrying a newborn—challenging staff at a hospital identified as Tip-Top Solution.

In the clip, she is seen demanding answers about the whereabouts of her second baby, insisting she delivered twins.

Visibly upset, Blessing Isioma accused the hospital of withholding her child, while people believed to be her relatives or companions also voiced anger in the background, calling for authorities to intervene over suspected foul play.

An obstetric scan report displayed in the video, reportedly belonging to the woman identified as Blessing Isioma David, indicated a twin pregnancy.

The document, dated March 2026, noted the presence of two foetuses with different positions and confirmed cardiac activity for both, alongside their respective genders.

However, the hospital has strongly denied the allegation. The Medical Director, Sunday Babajide, maintained that only one baby was delivered, attributing the confusion to an incorrect scan result.

According to him, the patient’s husband was present during the procedure and confirmed that a single child was born. He also stated that the mother remained conscious throughout the delivery.

Babajide further explained that scan inaccuracies can occur, particularly depending on the stage of pregnancy when the test is conducted.

He acknowledged, however, that the hospital could have requested a follow-up scan at another facility to avoid uncertainty.

Meanwhile, the Nigeria Police Force has stepped into the matter. Police spokesperson, Abimbola Adebisi, confirmed that an investigation is underway. She noted that relevant professional bodies have been engaged to assist in uncovering the facts.

Authorities also disclosed that the Area Commander in charge of the jurisdiction is overseeing the inquiry, with assurances that the outcome will be made public. Residents have been urged to remain calm as investigations continue.
