Veteran Nigerian actor and broadcaster, Patrick Doyle, and his wife have been plunged into grief following the death of their newborn daughter, barely hours after her birth.
The tragic development came shortly after Doyle had shared news of the baby’s arrival, stating that both mother and child were in good condition.
However, in a subsequent post on his social media page, the actor announced that the child had passed away less than 24 hours later.
Providing details, Doyle revealed that the baby, named Omayinuwa, was born around 10:40 am on Friday, April 10, but died at about 4:15 pm on Saturday, April 11.
He noted that although her time on earth was brief, it brought significant joy to the family.
Doyle added that despite the painful loss, he remains steadfast in faith, expressing belief in God’s sovereignty over human affairs.
The news has since drawn an outpouring of sympathy from fans, colleagues, and well-wishers, many of whom have taken to social media to offer prayers and condolences to the bereaved family.
