‘No man slept with me, I was alone in the hotel,’ Ondo ‘missing’ married woman speaks (Video)

A 42-year-old married woman, Mrs Tilewa Olatunde Funke, who was recently declared missing in Ondo State and later found in a hotel, has denied claims that she was with a man during the incident.
Funke, whose disappearance sparked concern among her family and community, was earlier reported to have been found in a hotel room with a male companion.
However, in a video interview conducted in Yoruba, she clarified that she stayed alone in the hotel and that no man spent the night with her.
She explained that she checked into the hotel due to a personal health situation, stating that she was menstruating at the time and could not move around easily.
According to her, she attempted to contact a female acquaintance in the area but was unable to reach her, as the woman had relocated.
She added that a man who answered the phone later assisted her by purchasing sanitary pads and delivering them to her room.
Funke admitted that switching off her phone was a mistake, noting that her family’s inability to reach her led them to raise the alarm and involve the police.
While expressing understanding over their actions, she apologised to her church, the Celestial Church of Christ, for the embarrassment caused by the incident.
Funke’s family had contacted the police when they did not see her and could not establish phone contact with her over 24 hours.
The police swung into action and obtained her call records from her telecom operator, where they found that she last exchanged a call with a man.
Investigators traced the line of the man and were able to apprehend him and quizzed him about the ‘missing’ woman.
The man later took the investigating team to the hotel room where Funke was staying.
Hear her explaining how she disappeared here.
