A Cameroonian realtor, Nguni Urbain, has recounted how he was shot in the chest while attempting to defend his wife during a violent robbery at their residence in Bunduma, Buea.

Urbain disclosed the incident in a Facebook post on Monday, April 6, 2026, detailing how two armed men invaded his home and carted away cash, valuables, and funds from his mobile money account.

According to him, the attackers initially overpowered him, tying his hands and legs before proceeding with their operation.

“Two armed men invaded my house, collected money, withdrew from Momo accounts, tied my hands and legs at the back,” he wrote.

He said once they were done collecting his valuables, he pleaded with them to untie his hands and legs.

According to the victim, the robbers untied him and led him into his room.

He explained that the situation escalated when the robbers ordered his wife to lie on the bed, apparently in a bid to rape her.

Urbain said he decided at that point to take a risky decision to attack them.

He managed to open the door while raising an alarm in a bid to attract attention.

“I succeeded in opening the door and stepped out, still struggling and shouting. He shot me in the chest,” he recounted.

According to Urbain, the bullet passed through his body but missed vital organs, a development he described as miraculous.

The assailants reportedly fled the scene shortly after the gunshot.

He is currently receiving treatment at a hospital in Buea and is said to be in stable condition.
