A new recreational facility, built by Journalists’ Estate Residents Association (JERDA) Phase 1, is set to be officially unveiled in Arepo, Ogun State, in an event expected to draw prominent dignitaries and community leaders.

JERDA 1 Recreation Centre, as it is called, will be unveiled in a colourful ceremony scheduled to take place on Friday, March 27, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the centre’s location in Journalists Estate, Phase 1, Arepo.

Former Ogun State governor, Olusegun Osoba, will serve as Chairman of the occasion, while the state governor, Dapo Abiodun, is billed to attend as Special Guest of Honour.

The Chief Unveiler for the event is Otunba Olusegun Runsewe, while the traditional ruler, the Olu of Arepo, will preside as Royal Father of the Day.

The event will be hosted by Barrister Jide Oke, Chairman of Journalists Estate 1, Arepo.

Organisers say the Jerda 1 Recreation Centre is designed to serve as a hub for leisure, community engagement, and social activities within the fast-growing Arepo axis.

Members of the public and invited guests have been encouraged to attend the ceremony, which is expected to mark a significant milestone in the development of recreational infrastructure in the bustling community of Arepo and its environs.

The chairman of the Planning Committee, Dr. Ray Echebiri, said all arrangements had been made to ensure the event goes smoothly.
