Veteran actor Pa James says Wale Adenuga never owes actors
Praises Papa Ajasco legacy

Veteran Nollywood actor Pa James, known as Ajirebi in Yoruba films, has shared a positive account of his long-standing collaboration with Wale Adenuga, adding his voice to ongoing discussions about the iconic Papa Ajasco and Company franchise.
His remarks follow recent comments by fellow actor Richard Ayoyinka, who previously reflected on his time portraying the character Papa Ajasco.
In a recent chat with content creator Lucky Udu, Pa James revealed that he still maintains a working relationship with Wale Adenuga Productions.
According to him, the engagement has remained steady over the years, with the production team reaching out whenever his services are needed.
Addressing concerns about remuneration in the industry, the actor dismissed claims of unpaid dues, stating that the company has consistently met its financial obligations.
He explained that actors are paid promptly for their work, regardless of how brief the assignment may be—even meetings are compensated.
Looking back on his journey with the popular comedy series, Pa James expressed appreciation for the platform, noting that the project far exceeded his early expectations.
What he initially assumed would be a short-term production eventually evolved into a long-running show that spanned decades.
He also highlighted the financial impact the show had on his life, revealing that his earnings from the production enabled him to make significant personal purchases, including acquiring a car.
Reflecting on the milestone anniversary of the series, the actor recalled feeling a deep sense of fulfilment when the show marked 25 years on air, describing it as a proud moment in his career.
