US-based Kenyan woman trends after accusing mother of inappropriate closeness with husband

A Kenyan woman based in the United States, Jackie Kinyajui, has triggered widespread reactions on social media after posting an emotional video in which she accused her mother of toxic behaviour and being suspiciously close to her husband.
In the now-viral clip, Jackie tearfully explained that she chose to address her mother publicly after attempts at private communication broke down.
She alleged that her mother had projected frustrations from her own troubled marriage onto her, while also taking sides with her estranged husband during ongoing personal disputes.
The woman further claimed that her mother instigated her husband to take custody of her child, a move she strongly opposed.
Jackie Kinyajui’s allegations raise concerns online
In a more controversial part of her statement, she suggested that her mother was unusually close to her husband, hinting that it might go beyond a typical in-law dynamic. However, no evidence was provided to substantiate this claim.
She also alleged that her mother had treated her harshly over the years and had once expressed regret about having her.
The woman expressed distress over what she described as a pattern of emotional strain, urging her mother not to direct unresolved issues from her past onto her.
Church role adds to public reaction
Adding another layer to the controversy, she revealed that her mother holds a leadership position within a church women’s group, often referred to as the Mothers’ Union.
Her claims have since generated mixed reactions online, with many users expressing shock, while others called for caution and urged that the matter be handled privately.
