A 24-year-old Nigerian man, Gift Oladele, has admitted having intercourse with a teenager in an alley, but firmly denied allegations of rape in an ongoing trial in the United Kingdom.

Oladele, who is said to operate a cleaning business in Manchester, is facing two counts of rape and one count of sexual assault involving a 19-year-old woman.

The case is being heard at Mold Crown Court, where prosecutors outlined the events surrounding the alleged incident.

According to the prosecution, the complainant reported that she encountered the defendant after a night out in Wrexham.

She alleged that she was later attacked during the encounter, leaving her distressed and shaken when she returned home, after which her parents contacted the police.

However, Oladele has denied all allegations. While giving evidence in court, he maintained that the encounter between him and the woman was consensual.

“I didn’t rape her. It’s not true,” he told the court, disputing the claims made against him.

He acknowledged that he had walked with the complainant in the early hours of the morning and admitted that they engaged in sexual activity. However, he insisted that it was by mutual agreement.

The defendant also admitted that leaving the woman in the alley afterward was inappropriate, describing it as not “gentlemanly,” but rejected suggestions that any assault took place.

The trial is ongoing, and the court is expected to continue hearing evidence before reaching a verdict.
