A British adult content creator, Bonnie Blue, has been charged with outraging public decency following an incident outside the Indonesian Embassy in London.
The influencer, whose real name is Tia Billinger, is accused of engaging in inappropriate conduct while holding an Indonesian flag along Great Peter Street in Westminster.
She had gone to the embassy in some form of protest over her ordeal in Indonesia. During the protest, she simulated a sexual act openly while holding the country’s flag.
The incident prompted an investigation by the Metropolitan Police.
In a statement, police confirmed that the 26-year-old was formally charged via a postal requisition on March 16. She is scheduled to appear before Westminster Magistrates’ Court on April 22.
Authorities said the charge stems from an episode that occurred shortly after her return to the United Kingdom from Indonesia, where she had previously encountered legal trouble.
In a video referenced by investigators, Billinger alluded to her earlier arrest abroad and reenacted the behaviour that led to scrutiny.
She had earlier been detained in Bali over allegations linked to the production of explicit content. Although she was later cleared and fined, Indonesian authorities imposed a 10-year ban preventing her from returning to the country.
Officials in Indonesia said the restriction was based on actions considered inconsistent with the nation’s cultural values and tourism standards.
Back in the UK, the case was referred to the Crown Prosecution Service, which approved the charge. If found guilty, she could face a custodial sentence of up to six months.
The matter is expected to be heard in court next month.
