Popular Nigerian comedian and social media influencer Samuel Perry, widely known as Broda ShaggifSha, has reportedly been hospitalised after sustaining a gunshot injury while filming a comedy skit in Ogun State.

The incident was said to have occurred on Sunday afternoon under the bridge in Sango-Ota.

According to a police source who spoke anonymously because he was not authorised to comment publicly, the content creator was filming a skit at the location when the shooting happened.

“He was shooting a skit under the Sango-Ota bridge when he sustained a gunshot injury. We don’t have details on how it happened yet, but his crew members who were present quickly rushed him to the hospital,” the source said.

The comedian was initially taken to Blooming Care Hospital, where medical personnel reportedly administered first aid.

He was later referred to Duchess Hospital for further treatment and is said to be recuperating.

Spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, Abimbola Adebisi, confirmed that the police were alerted after the hospital reported that a gunshot victim had been brought to their facility.

“The hospital contacted the police to report that a gunshot victim had been brought to their facility. Detectives and a patrol team were immediately mobilised to the hospital, where they discovered that the victim was a skit maker and social media influencer popularly known as Broda Shaggi,” she said.

Adebisi added that the entertainer was found on a stretcher with a gunshot injury to his thigh. She noted, however, that the shooting was believed to have occurred in Sango-Ota, which falls outside the command’s jurisdiction, though investigations were ongoing.

Meanwhile, the spokesperson for the Ogun State Police Command, Oluseyi Babaseyi, said the alleged incident had not yet been officially reported to the police in the state.

Efforts to reach the comedian’s manager, Olufemi Oguntamu, also known as Penzaar, were unsuccessful as calls and messages sent to him had not been returned as of the time of filing this report.

The incident has sparked concern among fans and followers of the comedian.
