A Nigerian woman has stirred controversy on social media after making harsh remarks about women who undergo cosmetic surgery, particularly the Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL).

The unidentified woman made the comments in a video shared on X (formerly Twitter) by user @teeniiola, where she criticised the motivations behind the increasingly popular cosmetic procedure.

In the viral clip, the woman dismissed claims that many women undergo BBL surgery to improve their self-confidence.

Instead, she alleged that the procedure is often done to attract men or gain financial benefits.

According to her, the explanation that women enhance their bodies through surgery for personal confidence is “a big lie,” arguing that most people who choose the procedure have other motives.

Her remarks became even more controversial when she stated that women who undergo BBL surgery and die from complications should not expect sympathy.

The video quickly gained traction online, generating widespread reactions and debate among social media users.

While some commenters agreed with her criticism of cosmetic surgery culture, others condemned her language as insensitive, especially in light of recent reports about deaths linked to cosmetic procedures.

The discussion has intensified following the reported death of Jessica Elena, which has already sparked conversations about the safety of cosmetic surgeries in Nigeria.

Medical experts have repeatedly warned that the Brazilian Butt Lift procedure carries significant risks if not performed under proper medical conditions.

The surgery involves transferring fat from other parts of the body to the buttocks to enhance shape and size.
