Woman narrates narrow escape when container fell where LASTMA officer asked her to park

A Nigerian woman, Sylvia Egbuji, has shared how she narrowly escaped a potentially fatal accident after a shipping container fell from a trailer moments after she avoided parking beside it in Lagos.
Egbuji recounted the experience on social media, explaining that the incident occurred while she was on her way to work.
According to her account, a trailer carrying a container had blocked the entrance of a street she intended to enter, causing traffic congestion. The situation was reportedly worsened by a dispute between the truck driver and local touts at the scene.
Egbuji said she initially attempted to drive into the street but was approached by an officer of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), who asked her to reverse and park beside the trailer to allow the truck move.
However, she decided against parking at the spot and instead reversed and took an alternative route through another street.
Moments after she drove away, the container reportedly fell from the trailer and landed exactly at the location where the traffic officer had asked her to park.
Recounting the incident, Egbuji said she had asked a companion to step out of the car to help control oncoming vehicles so she could enter the street. She later called the person to inform him that she had chosen to use a different route.
Shortly after, he told her that the container had fallen from the truck and landed at the precise spot where she had earlier been directed to park.
The woman said the incident left her shocked and grateful to have escaped what could have been a serious accident.
She added that a relative also called her shortly afterwards, after hearing about the fallen container, prompting her to reflect on how close she came to danger.
