A Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Frank Mba, has voluntarily retired from the Nigeria Police Force after more than three decades of service.

Mba, who served as the DIG in charge of Training and Development at Force Headquarters, ended his career after 34 years in the police.

His retirement comes amid a series of changes within the police hierarchy following the exit of former Inspector-General of Police Kayode Egbetokun and the appointment of Olatunji Rilwan Disu as the new head of the force.

Before attaining the rank of Deputy Inspector-General, Mba was widely known for his role as the Force Public Relations Officer. He also previously served as the police spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command.

Mba joined the police in May 1992 as a cadet officer and distinguished himself early in his career by emerging as the best graduating cadet in academics at the Nigeria Police Academy in Kano.

In a farewell message, the retired officer expressed appreciation to Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the opportunity to serve the country during his administration.

He also thanked Nigerians for their support throughout his career, noting that it had been an honour to contribute to the security and stability of the nation.
