New information circulating online has cast doubt on earlier widespread reports about the death of content creator and social media personality King Mitchy (real name:  Mukoro Michelle.

A woman on X (formerly Twitter) publicly disputed the claims, insisting that the viral reports were untrue.

In her post, she declared, “King Mitchy is not dead,” adding that she chose not to believe the news until there was official confirmation.

According to her, she consulted Grok — the AI chatbot integrated with X — which allegedly described the circulating death report as false.

The woman further claimed that King Mitchy was said to have ingested a harmful substance but was promptly taken to a hospital in Abuja, where she reportedly received treatment and was later discharged alive. However, no independent confirmation of this account has been provided.

She also alleged that King Mitchy’s mother shared a video on TikTok dismissing the rumours. In the clip, the mother was said to have prayed and ended her message with the phrase “back to sender,” as part of efforts to refute the reports.

The controversy has generated significant reactions online, with social media users divided over the authenticity of the various claims.

Addressing the backlash she received, the woman disclosed that she had earlier been criticised and mass-reported over previous posts related to the matter.

“Yesterday, I was dragged, and they even mass-reported my post. Many called me names and gave me threats,” she wrote.

She explained that she deleted her earlier post because the information had not been fully verified, admitting she may have acted prematurely.

Concluding her statement, she cautioned individuals against taking drastic actions over online disputes, stressing that no situation is worth risking one’s life.

King Mitchy’s management issued a poorly-worded statement in the early hours of this morning, claiming that the content creator passed away after ingesting bleach.

The management claimed that she passed away at Prime Hospital in Abuja despite medical efforts to stabilise her condition.
The statement read in part: “We are deeply heartbroken to share that our beloved Michelle has passed on. Despite all efforts from the medical team here in Abuja, we were told her condition was critical, and sadly, she could not be revived.”
The management described her as “more than a talent.” They called on the public to respect the privacy of the family as they mourned their daughter.

The controversy surrounding the conflicting reports about King Mitchy comes after weeks of intense online drama involving the influencer.

Prior to the recent claims, she had been embroiled in a public dispute with social media critic VeryDarkMan (VDM) over her philanthropic activities.

King Mitchy had announced that she renovated a school within six days and subsequently challenged the activist to provide her with ₦50 million to support the renovation of four additional schools.

The exchange escalated when questions were raised about the source of funds for the project and the nature of her business operations.

Amid the heated back-and-forth, King Mitchy reportedly lost access to her business Instagram account and alleged that her critic played a role in its suspension.

In an effort to defend her credibility, she shared what she claimed was a WhatsApp conversation with the Ooni of Ife, Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, suggesting that the monarch had commended her efforts.

However, the palace later denied the authenticity of the exchange, prompting her to issue a public apology.

The situation further intensified after she alleged that VDM had made damaging claims about her personal conduct.
