The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has confirmed a fire outbreak at the old terminal of Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos.
FAAN’s Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Henry Agbebire, said emergency response teams were immediately deployed to the scene to manage the situation.
According to him, the agency’s firefighting unit swiftly mobilised to contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading to other parts of the facility.
He reassured the public that no casualties had been reported.
“We are aware of the outbreak and our team is on ground. Our firefighters are currently responding and working to bring the situation under control. No loss of life has been recorded. Further updates will be provided,” he stated.
Passengers and airport users have been urged to remain calm while emergency officials continue efforts to fully extinguish the fire and evaluate the extent of damage to the affected terminal.
