Kenyan woman in viral video with Russian tourist apologises to President William Ruto, family
I never had unprotected intimacy with him

Choice Kinoti, a Kenyan woman captured in a raunchy video with the controversial Russian tourist, has publicly apologised to William Ruto and her family.
Kinoti, who appeared in the widely circulated footage, broke her silence during an interview with digital content creator 2mbili on Monday, February 16.
“I did not know they would be shared”
In the emotional interview, Choice expressed regret over the situation and its public fallout.
“I just want to say this, Mr President, that I am at a dating stage in my life, and I did not know they would be posted online without my consent. I am sorry, this is not who I am,” she said.
She described the recordings as a breach of trust, alleging that the man involved filmed her during vulnerable moments and later shared the videos publicly.
“It was so wrong that he recorded me during my vulnerable moments with him and posted me,” she added.
Apology to family and the nation
Choice extended her apology beyond the President to her parents, close friends, and Kenyans at large.
“I am sorry to my parents and true friends, and I am sorry to my country,” she stated.
She urged the public not to judge her based solely on the viral clips, emphasising that the incident does not define her character or ambitions.
“Please, guys, do not judge me by just a clip. This is not what I do. I am a content creator, and I have a lot of potential.”
Relationship context
According to her account, she had been in a relationship with the foreign national for some time before he travelled to Kenya to meet her. She said she believed he was a legitimate streamer and content creator who travelled frequently.
“For me, I thought he was just a streamer. He had told me he does streaming and content creation for a living, and he also travels across the world. That is why I agreed to it,” she explained.
The incident has sparked widespread debate online about consent, digital privacy, and the responsibilities of content creators in the age of social media.
