A popular online commentator known as Immunizer has publicly questioned the credibility of the viral assault allegation made by TikTok user Mirabel, further intensifying debate surrounding the case.
Mirabel’s initial claim — which has been widely discussed across X and TikTok — was that she was assaulted in her Lagos apartment by an unknown person. She claimed that the person later sent her a message admitting to the act.
Immunizer raises concerns
In a reaction video that has since gained traction online, Immunizer argued that there are inconsistencies in Mirabel’s account.
He suggested that certain elements in her videos and screenshots do not align with the severity of the injuries she described.
Specifically, he questioned hospital footage in which Mirabel appeared composed and dressed in jeans, stating that this contradicted her claims of serious physical harm.
He also alleged that writing patterns in screenshots of messages purportedly sent by the accused resembled Mirabel’s own caption style.
According to him, similarities in spelling choices and repeated expressions raised suspicion about the authenticity of the messages.
In addition, he claimed that profile picture changes on both Mirabel’s TikTok account and the alleged perpetrator’s account occurred around the same time the story began trending, which he suggested could indicate manipulation.
Public reaction divided
Immunizer’s claims have generated mixed reactions online. While some social media users agree that certain details merit scrutiny, others have criticised attempts to publicly dissect the account of an alleged assault victim without the conclusion of an official investigation.

“This Mirabel girl don use her hand to expose herself. I will post four screenshots now. Now look at for the words, ‘SO.’ I’m going to circle it, see, so screenshots from the chat that the grape is sent her on TikTok, then screenshots from her own caption. Look, so double o, so double o, so double o, even on her own caption. Now do you see that the same person that texted her is the same person handling her TikTok? Who is that person? She, herself, Mirabel. This is the way she writes her so, s double o, you see…
Omo, una mumu for this country. Na emotion go destroy most people in this country. See, calm down, watch this video to the end. Many of you didn’t know that before this case started trending, yesterday, when she go open that TikTok page, that pristine guy page to text herself, she changed the profile picture, then used this sound. When she noticed that the video is already trending, she now went to her own page, where she gave 5,000 followers, to change her own profile picture too, then still use the same sound. She don lose guard…”
The controversy has also reignited broader conversations about the risk of misinformation on social media, the dangers of victim-blaming and the importance of due process.
Authorities yet to release findings
As of now, there has been no official public statement confirming or refuting the allegations made by Mirabel.
Law enforcement agencies are expected to determine the facts through proper investigation.
Sexual assault allegations are serious criminal matters, and experts continue to urge caution in drawing conclusions before verified evidence or official findings are released.
