On 17 February 2026, leadership from the Association of Telecom Companies of Nigeria (ATCON) paid a courtesy visit to the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) at the Commission’s headquarters in Abuja.

The delegation was led by ATCON President Tony Emoekpere and included the association’s Vice President and CEO of IXPN, Muhammed Rudman, among others. They were received by senior NCC officials, including:

Dr Aminu Maida, Executive Vice-Chairman/CEO of NCC;

Abraham Oshadami, Executive Commissioner for Technical Services, and

Rimini Makama, Executive Commissioner for Stakeholder Management.

The meeting was described as a courtesy engagement between the regulator and industry stakeholders.

While the publicly available reports are primarily photo and caption coverage, such visits traditionally offer a forum for strategic dialogue on the state of the telecom sector, regulatory developments, industry challenges, and opportunities for cooperation—such as continued infrastructure development, alignment on regulatory priorities, and sector growth initiatives.

Official statements or detailed communiqués from either organisation regarding substantive outcomes of the visit have not yet been widely published online.

However, courtesy visits of this kind typically reinforce collaborative relationships between the regulator and industry players and signal ongoing engagement on sector policies and regulatory frameworks.
