Family members and residents have been thrown into mourning following the killing of a businessman, David Dahbille Ndevino, who was allegedly attacked and beaten to death by unidentified assailants in Adamawa State.

The incident reportedly occurred on Monday, February 16, 2026.

Attack along Numan–Bille route

According to an account shared by Nestor Dahni, the deceased had travelled to Numan to purchase goods for his provision shop.

After buying the items, he hired a motorcyclist to help transport some of the goods, as his own Bajaj motorcycle could not carry everything.

Due to the late hour, they reportedly decided to take a shortcut from Numan to Bille through Kona village. However, they never arrived at their destination.

“They were attacked and beaten to death,” Dahni stated in his account.

While Ndevino lost his life, the second motorcyclist survived the assault but remains unconscious as of the time of reporting.

Not a case of robbery

Family sources insist the attack did not appear to be robbery-related, as none of the victim’s belongings — including the motorcycles — were reportedly taken.

“This was not a robbery gone wrong. None of his belongings were stolen,” the source said, calling on government authorities and security agencies to thoroughly investigate the killing.

The family is demanding answers regarding those responsible and the motive behind the attack.

“We want to know who is responsible for this murder and what their motives were. We know he is gone, but we deserve to know why,” the statement read.

Call for Investigation

As of the time of filing this report, security agencies in Adamawa State had not issued an official statement regarding the incident.

The killing has sparked concern among residents, particularly over safety along rural routes connecting communities within the state.

Authorities are expected to commence investigations to identify and apprehend those behind the attack.
