A tourist identified online as Yaytseslav has sparked widespread outrage in Ghana after posting videos that allegedly document his intimate interactions with random women, including those wearing wedding bands, in Accra.

The individual, who describes himself as a Russian national, films himself approaching women around the Accra Mall area, initiating conversations and recording the exchanges.

He films the women when they later pay him a visit in his hotel room, mostly the same day. He joins the clips together and uploads them to his social media platforms, where they have generated massive views in his home country.

Several clips circulating online appear to show him persuading women to accompany him to his hotel room shortly after meeting them.

The women he has uploaded showed no restraint in interacting with him and also appear not to object to his filming them.

In one clip, he approached a young woman waiting for a bus, locally called a trotro, at a crowded bus stop. The tourist managed to convince her to follow him, and she obliged.

One video that has triggered particularly strong backlash involves a hotel receptionist.

He had apparently rang for a fresh towel. A lady receptionist brought it to his room, and he invited her inside “to see how I live”

The tourist is then seen in the later part of the video kissing and caressing the receptionist, with no visible resistance from the lady.

In another clip, a random woman he invited from a mall hesitated at the entrance of the lift when she paid him a visit in his hotel later.

She can be heard telling him that she would like to stay in the reception area because it is her first time meeting him.

Yaytseslav replies that he would like her to see how he lives, the same magic phrase he told the receptionist.

The woman then followed him into the lift.

Many social media users are condemning Yaytseslav’s behaviour as manipulative, exploitative, and degrading to his host country, while others have questioned the judgment of the women involved.

Advocacy voices, however, have warned against victim-blaming and stressed the importance of focusing on issues of consent and safety.

Legal experts note that recording and distributing intimate or potentially compromising content without clear consent may violate privacy and criminal laws, depending on jurisdiction.

As of the time of this report, Ghanaian authorities have not issued an official statement regarding the matter.
