Celebrity nightlife entrepreneur Pascal Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest, has publicly declared his support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In a video shared on his Instagram page, the socialite showcased branded campaign buses linked to what he described as the “City Boy Movement,” signalling early mobilisation efforts.
He stated that he, alongside businessman Obi Cubana and other allies, had been involved in late-night strategy meetings focused on galvanising support.
According to him, their objective is clear: to secure strong backing for Tinubu, particularly in the South-East. He suggested that influential figures from the region are determined to play a more active political role rather than remain on the sidelines.
“We are focused and not distracted,” he wrote, adding that removing Tinubu from office in 2027 would be “impossible.”
His remarks come amid online criticism from some quarters, including social commentator Isaac Fayose, who questioned the political priorities of certain prominent Igbo elites. Fayose referenced Cubana Chief Priest and Obi Cubana while discussing broader issues around regional political interests.
With more than a year before the next election cycle intensifies, visible endorsements from high-profile entertainers and entrepreneurs indicate early positioning by political actors and their supporters. While no official campaign season has commenced, such declarations reflect ongoing efforts to consolidate regional influence and shape political narratives ahead of 2027.
As political alignments gradually take form, observers note that endorsements from influential cultural and business figures may play a role in voter mobilisation, particularly in regions where electoral outcomes are often closely contested.
