A Lagos resident has raised an alarm after his recently employed driver, Olunowo Olumide Ogunyemi, allegedly disappeared with his luxury SUV, barely weeks after assuming work.
Ogunyemi is accused of fleeing with a Lexus GX460 bearing registration number KJA 123 CX, belonging to his employer. The incident reportedly occurred last week in the Lekki axis of Lagos.
The vehicle owner said Ogunyemi, aged 48, was employed as a personal driver less than a month ago.
Trouble began when the employer reportedly stepped out briefly to see a friend, leaving the driver with the vehicle. The driver is said to have driven off and failed to return.
Subsequent efforts to reach Ogunyemi were unsuccessful, prompting fears that the vehicle may have been stolen.
The owner later circulated an SOS message to alert the public and seek assistance in locating both the driver and the SUV.
Details provided indicate that Ogunyemi’s last known residence was Engineer Olaitan Street, Iyana Ipaja, while he is originally from Odogbolu Local Government Area of Ogun State.
Appealing for public cooperation, the vehicle owner urged anyone who encounters the suspect or the vehicle to report immediately to the nearest police station.
He also called for the information to be shared widely to reduce the risk of similar incidents involving unsuspecting employers.
As of the time of filing this report, there has been no official confirmation from the police on whether the suspect has been apprehended or if the vehicle has been recovered.
