‘Hold the man who impregnated Aunty Ajara responsible for her death,’ Influencer Porkiyor (video)

Popular skit maker, Olaifa Pelumi, known online as Porkiyor, has blamed the man responsible for Aunty Ajara’s pregnancy for her untimely death.
It would be recalled that diminutive actress, Ajara Lasisi, better known as Aunty Ajara, passed away on Thursday, February 5, 2026, following complications from a liver disease.
Her passing was confirmed by her elder brother, Ridwan Lasisi, and announced by colleagues in the entertainment industry.
The doctors managing her condition had warned before her demise that the pregnancy the actress was carrying would complicate her condition, according to those looking after the late actress.
In a video statement that has now gone viral, Porkiyor said Aunty Ajara — a well‑loved comic actress best known for her supporting roles in Yoruba‑language films and skits — would have been alive today if she had not been impregnated by a man.
In the days before her death, clips of Aunty Ajara attending events while visibly pregnant circulated widely on social media, drawing both sympathy and speculation from fans and netizens.
Footage of her at the funeral of late actress Allwell Ademola — where her pregnancy was evident — triggered conversations about the risks she may have faced balancing her health and pregnancy.
Porkiyor’s controversial statement on Aunty Ajara
Speaking in Yoruba, Porkiyor wondered how anyone in their right senses would contemplate impregnating someone like that.
Pointing to a bedside drawer, Porkiyor said the late actress was not taller than the drawer, and consequently could not have been expected to carry a pregnancy to term.
He described the situation as unjust, and his remarks have since drawn both support and criticism from online audiences.
Industry reaction and public sentiment
While many Nigerians expressed deep sadness over Aunty Ajara’s untimely death, reactions to Porkiyor’s remarks have been mixed.
Some social media users argue that personal relationships and health matters should not be politicised in the wake of someone’s passing, stressing that the late actress was an adult capable of her own decisions.
Others have echoed concern over her health circumstances, particularly given her pregnancy alongside a serious illness.
Across social platforms, fans have shared tributes highlighting Aunty Ajara’s vibrant personality and lasting impact on Nollywood.
Many remember her as an energetic performer whose work brought laughter and warmth to audiences throughout Nigeria.
