A dramatic scene played out at Balogun Market recently after a woman was caught trying to steal jewellery and perfume by hiding the items inside her private region.
The pretty, middle-aged woman apparently believed no one would search her private region on her way out.
However, it appeared the shop owners noticed her suspicious movements, confronted her and recovered the stolen goods from her, drawing a crowd as emotions flared.
A viral video of the incident shows a man interrogating the woman, repeatedly asking where she was from. She disclosed she was from Lagos and revealed she had children at home depending on her.
Fighting back tears, the woman who wore expensive jewellery, including nosering, explained that she had an upcoming family function and desperately needed money, which she said pushed her into stealing.
The situation quickly turned heated as the man slapped her several times while questioning her.
Amid the chaos, the woman admitted that what she did was wrong and even said the punishment she was receiving was justified.
Some voices in the background can be heard expressing surprise at how the woman was able to stuff all the stolen items in her private area.
