CNN-recognised homeless advocate, Shirley Raines, found dead in her home in America (VIDEO)

Shirley Raines, the widely admired TikTok star and humanitarian behind the nonprofit organisation Beauty 2 The Streetz, has passed away at the age of 58.
The organisation, which supports homeless communities across Los Angeles, Las Vegas and San Diego, confirmed her death in a statement released on Wednesday, January 28.
“It is with profound sorrow and heavy hearts that Beauty 2 The Streetz announces the passing of our beloved CEO and founder, Shirley Raines,” the statement read.
“Ms Shirley dedicated her life to serving others and made an immeasurable impact on homeless communities throughout Los Angeles and Nevada.”
The group praised her relentless compassion, noting that she used her growing media platform to draw attention to the struggles of the homeless while providing food, hygiene supplies and beauty services to restore dignity and hope.
“Through her tireless advocacy and unwavering commitment, she changed countless lives. This loss is devastating to our team, the communities we serve, and everyone touched by Ms Shirley’s generosity,” the organisation added.
Beauty 2 The Streetz also assured supporters that her mission would continue, urging the public to keep her family and loved ones in their prayers during the difficult period.
What caused Shirley Raines’ death?
The nonprofit has not officially disclosed the cause of her death, saying more information would be shared when available.
However, TMZ reported that Raines was found unresponsive beside her bed on Tuesday night at her home in Henderson during a wellness check.
A devoted mother of six, Raines managed to balance a full-time career in medical billing — spanning 26 years — with her passion for helping society’s most vulnerable. What began as a small act of kindness grew into a powerful movement that fed thousands and provided essential care to people living on the streets.
Her impact earned national recognition, including CNN’s Hero of the Year award in 2021 and the NAACP’s 2025 Social Media Personality honour.
As tributes continue to flood social media, many are remembering Shirley Raines not just as an influencer, but as a woman whose life was defined by service, compassion and unwavering love for humanity.
