A Nigerian woman based in the United States has broken down in tears in a viral video, pleading with U.S. President Donald Trump to grant immigrants time to properly organise their lives before leaving the country amid what she described as relentless harassment by immigration officials.

According to the woman, fear has taken over the immigrant community following what she called continuous arrests and intimidation by officers of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

She revealed that her teenage son is afraid of going out and one of her staff members — a Nigerian lady who works at her shop — has stopped coming to work entirely because of fear of being picked up by ICE officials.

“The way these people are treating immigrants is very traumatising,” she cried. “President Trump, if you want immigrants to leave America, give us time. We will leave.”

In the emotional outburst, the woman claimed that alleged violent encounters involving ICE officers have left many people dead and the rest in constant fear.

She referenced the reported killing of a nurse, which she attributed to ICE officials, saying such incidents have created panic across communities.

According to her, many Nigerians and other immigrants are now ready to return home, but not under pressure or sudden displacement.

She appealed for at least one year to allow families to sell off their houses, dispose of vehicles and other valuables, and properly prepare for relocation back to Nigeria.

Shockingly, the woman stated that life now feels safer in Nigeria than in the United States.

“The peace in Nigeria is better than the peace in America now,” she said. “We are more afraid here than when we were back home,” she lamented.

Her video has sparked widespread reactions online, with many immigrants sharing similar fears while others debated U.S. immigration policies and enforcement tactics.
