Shock and grief have swept through the Nigerian community in Canada after a young, high-flying executive, Victoria Kemi Adedoyin, was found dead in her home just hours after returning from work.
Adedoyin, 33, a Nigerian professional who relocated to Canada in July 2022, was discovered lifeless in her apartment after colleagues raised the alarm over her sudden silence.
According to reports, Victoria attended church on Sunday, January 18, 2026, and resumed work the following day, Monday, January 19.
After returning home that evening, she was scheduled to join an important virtual meeting with senior executives of her multinational company.
When she failed to log in — and repeated calls and messages went unanswered — her worried colleagues contacted the police.
Officers reportedly forced their way into her residence, where they found her body.

Initial reports suggested the coroner suspected a brain aneurysm as the cause of death. However, that claim was later withdrawn due to a lack of sufficient evidence, leaving many unanswered questions surrounding her sudden passing.

Tributes have poured in from friends, colleagues and Nigerians across Canada, describing Victoria as brilliant, hardworking and driven.
The Facebook community of Nigerians in Canada revealed that she secured her Canadian Permanent Residency in 2022 and immediately committed herself to professional growth.
They disclosed that she joined Accenture Canada as a Senior Analyst, quickly rising through the ranks:
She was promoted within eight months to Senior Client Account Manager and later moved to the Agency Team in 2024.
Eventually, she became Team Lead, a role she held until her death.
“She was versatile, resilient and a natural leader,” the group wrote.
A life cut short
Victoria’s sudden death has left loved ones heartbroken, with many struggling to comprehend how a vibrant young woman full of promise could be gone so abruptly.
As investigations continue, family, friends and the wider community are left mourning a rising star whose life ended far too soon.
