“I lost everything” — Woman deported by Trump after 42 years in US reveals her deplorable life in Haiti

A woman who spent most of her life in the United States has sparked widespread sympathy online after sharing how difficult life has become since she was deported to Haiti after 42 years.
The woman, identified as Juan, was deported without having any opportunity to take her possessions in the US with her or convert them to cash to cushion her life in Haiti.
To make matters worse, she had maintained no contact with any family back in Haiti since she left at the age of five.
Juan found herself stranded in Haiti with no money to rent an apartment and nowhere to lay her head.
A pregnant single mother who lives in a shanty asked her to put up with her in a shack that also accommodated her young son.
The Haitian deportee posted emotional videos on social media documenting her living conditions as she tries to adjust to a country she last lived in as a child.
In one of the clips, she introduced herself and said she is now 47 years old, describing her current situation as unstable and extremely challenging.
She gave viewers a tour of her temporary shelter, showing the kitchen, bathroom, and the area used for basic sanitation. She also revealed that she is staying with a woman who offered her a place to sleep, adding that several people now share a single bed.
Alongside the video, Juan posted a message detailing the emotional toll of her experience, saying she had lost everything after being deported.
She wrote that life in Haiti has come with constant hardship, insecurity, and a lack of job opportunities — especially for someone who feels like a stranger to the culture after decades abroad.
Juan appealed to the online community for support, saying she hopes to relocate, find work, and one day be able to contribute positively to Haiti’s economy.
She added that adapting to life in Haiti has been overwhelming, noting that her unfamiliarity with local customs and the absence of employment opportunities have made rebuilding her life even more difficult.
