A Nigerian woman has sparked outrage and heartbreak online after revealing how her close friend, Loveth, was kidnapped while travelling to Abuja and later murdered when her family failed to raise a ₦100 million ransom.

Sharing her pain on social media, the grieving lady described the incident as a cruel reminder of Nigeria’s worsening insecurity.

“May Nigeria never happen to you,” she wrote.

“A friend of mine travelling to Abuja was kidnapped. Her abductors demanded ₦100 million. When her family couldn’t raise the money, they killed her. And with all this happening under Tinubu, people still expect us to return to Nigeria.”

A journey that ended in horror

According to her account, the victim was simply travelling when she was intercepted by kidnappers — one of the many Nigerians caught in the growing wave of abductions across the country.

What followed was every family’s nightmare: frantic calls, desperate efforts to raise funds, and helplessness as the ransom amount proved impossible to gather.

In the end, the kidnappers reportedly carried out their threat.

Her life was taken.

Pain that reflects a national crisis

The woman’s story has reignited widespread fear and anger over Nigeria’s security situation, with many lamenting that ordinary travel has now become a deadly risk.

The incident, she said, has shattered families and deepened the trauma already gripping many Nigerians at home and abroad.

Nigerians react in anguish

Social media users flooded the comment section with grief and frustration:

“It’s heartbreaking that people keep voting for leaders who allow insecurity to destroy lives,” one user wrote.

Another added, “We are finished in this country.”

“This is terrifying. No one should live in constant fear of kidnapping or losing loved ones,” a commenter said.

Others blamed political leadership and called for unity and accountability, saying the nation cannot continue like this.
