Mr Benson Omo Ologo, a once fast-rising hip-hop artiste in Nigeria’s music scene, has reportedly lost his mind and filmed roaming the streets while carrying rubbish on his head.
Mr Benson gained public attention around 2023 after releasing some hit singles and successful collabos.
His posters can still be found online, promoting some of his outings.
However, about a year afterwards, he reportedly lost his mind after what was believed to be his heavy indulgence in hard substances.
Some fans and fellow artistes, notably Portable, later made efforts to get him off the street and put him back on his feet.
However, he has been sighted roaming public spaces in Lagos, sparking renewed concern among fans and members of the public.
Several clips show him with a sack of rubbish on his head, walking aimlessly around in multiple locations.
The videos, which have been widely shared on social media, have triggered emotional reactions, with many Nigerians expressing sadness over the apparent decline of a once-promising talent.
Many of the clips online were captioned: “Say No to Drugs”.
Others have called for renewed intervention, urging relevant authorities, well-meaning individuals, and the entertainment community to step in once again.
At the time of this report, there has been no official statement from Mr Benson Omo Ologo’s family or representatives regarding his current condition or plans for further rehabilitation.
