US-based doctor faces storm after he filmed himself fondling, lifting drunk woman’s dress (Video)

A U.S.-based Kenyan identified as Opande James is facing a social media storm after he posted a video of himself fondling a drunk woman and lifting her dress to reveal her privates in a Nairobi club.
Opande, who is married with children, was in Kenya for vacation when the incident happened.
He made the recording as he conversed with the visibly drunk woman inside the unnamed nightclub.
The footage spread rapidly on X, Facebook, Instagram and other platforms.
At one point in the clip, he is seen lifting the woman’s dress, with the lady quickly covering herself up. The woman’s identity has not been publicly confirmed.
The video sparked immediate condemnation online, with many critics accusing James of taking advantage of a vulnerable person and violating her dignity and privacy.
Social media users described his actions as disrespectful and exploitative, particularly given the woman’s apparent intoxication.
Women’s rights activists have also weighed in, with some threatening to report the matter to the U.S. Embassy in Nairobi and urging authorities to consider revoking James’s visa on grounds of behaviour unbecoming of a foreign national and a violation of personal privacy.
“Recording someone in such a state without their consent, and then sharing that content online, is a troubling violation of personal dignity and privacy,” one activist wrote on X. “No one should be filmed like this, especially when they are unable to consent.”
Responses to the video have been mixed. While the majority condemned the behaviour and called for accountability, a small number of social media users labelled the incident as harmless or “light-hearted club content.”
James has not publicly addressed the controversy. His social media profiles remain silent, and it is not clear whether the woman featured in the video has filed a police complaint or is receiving support from friends or family.
Under Kenyan law, filming or sharing explicit content without consent can potentially expose an individual to privacy, harassment and cybercrime charges.
Observers say that if formal complaints are filed, authorities may be compelled to investigate the incident.
