The family of late Nollywood actress Allwell Ademola has released the official burial arrangements for the respected film star, days after news of her death shocked colleagues, fans, and the Nigerian entertainment industry.
Allwell Ademola’s passing was announced earlier this week, triggering an outpouring of grief across social media, particularly among Nollywood practitioners who described her as a talented, humble, and committed actress.
Although the family has not publicly disclosed the exact cause of her death, tributes from industry peers suggest her demise was sudden and deeply painful for those close to her.
In a statement shared online, the family confirmed that a Service of Songs and Candlelight Procession will hold on Thursday, January 8, 2026, as part of activities to celebrate her life and legacy.
The Service of Songs is scheduled for 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm, after which preparations will begin for the candlelight procession.
The procession, which will run from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm, will take place along the LTV 8 to Oregun Junction route, before returning to LTV.
An Artistes’ Night will follow immediately after, providing colleagues and friends an opportunity to honour her contributions to Nollywood through performances and tributes. Closing remarks are expected by 11:00 pm.
To further commemorate the late actress, the family disclosed that customised memorial T-shirts will be distributed to attendees at the Service of Songs.
The burial ceremony is scheduled for Friday, January 9, 2026, at Atan Cemetery, Yaba, Lagos, with proceedings set to begin at 10:00 am.
According to the family, attendees are expected to wear white shirts with jeans, noting that white has been chosen as the official colour code for the burial.
In their message, the family expressed heartfelt appreciation to colleagues, fans, and well-wishers for the overwhelming support received since the actress’ death.
They described the love, prayers, and solidarity shown during this difficult period as deeply comforting.
Allwell Ademola’s death has left a noticeable void in the Nigerian film industry, where she was known for her dedication to her craft and her warm relationship with fellow actors.
