Fresh footage has surfaced online capturing the moment self-styled prophet Ebo Noah (real name Evans Eshun) was taken into custody by Ghanaian security operatives on New Year’s Eve.

The arrest, which reportedly took place on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, was carried out following directives from the Inspector-General of Police, Christian Tetteh Yohuno.

Sources say officers from the police’s Special Cyber Vetting Team were involved in the operation.

Ebo Noah’s arrest came just days after his widely publicised prophecy predicting a catastrophic global flood failed to materialise, a development that had already triggered intense public backlash and online scrutiny.

A vast majority of Ghanaians ignored the self-proclaimed prophet and his predictions, but some believed him and thronged his ark placed on a beach in Ghana to secure their spot ahead of the expected flood on Christmas Day.

Social media footage showed a mammoth crowd carrying their belongings on their heads as they jostled to get on Ebo Noah’s ark.

However, contrary to his prophecy, there was not a drop of rain on Christmas day and the days following it.

His believers ditched the wooden contraption one after the other and returned to their homes when there was no flood and the world failed to end.

The prophet was seen in another viral video claiming that God had asked him to build more arks “in addition to the ten’ so that more people can be accommodated.

It appears the authorities felt the need to check the excesses of the self-proclaimed prophet.

Videos circulating on social media show the moment leading up to his arrest. In one clip, Ebo Noah is seen seated at a restaurant, dressed in his trademark jute sack outfit, while engaging followers during a TikTok live session.

Voices believed to belong to close associates could be heard in the background as he appeared relaxed and unaware of what was about to unfold.

Another video, shared by independent media platforms, captured the point at which plain-clothes security operatives approached him, escorted him out of the restaurant, and bundled him into a waiting private vehicle.

He was later questioned inside the vehicle before being handcuffed and taken away for further interrogation.

Following the arrest, a Kumasi-based radio station, Angel FM, shared a photograph allegedly taken at a police facility. The image showed Ebo Noah standing in handcuffs, still wearing his signature attire.

As of the time of this report, police authorities have not officially disclosed the charges against him, nor have they announced any court appearance or bail conditions.

However, public speculation suggests the arrest may be connected to the panic and misinformation generated by his failed doomsday prophecy.
