Community beat, tie nursing student to pillar after he was caught sleeping with married coursemate
A young nursing student is lucky to be alive after community members beat him to stupor for daring to enter a married woman’s house to sleep with her.
The incident happened in a community along the Nyankpala Road area of Tamale, Ghana during the Yuletide.
According to Facebook user Basiru Bejejugu, a nursing student, Ramlatu, who is married to a working-class man known for returning home late due to work commitments, invited her male coursemate into her home..
Ramlatu had made sure her husband would be late to return home as usual, by calling him at work to confirm his expected arrival time.
Once she confirmed that, she reportedly also called her husband’s friend, a provision store operator, to sound him out on her husband’s itinerary as he sometimes hanged out with the friend after work.
After she got the confirmation she needed, she called over her classmate from the community nursing training school to come and keep her company in her matrimonial home.
The classmate arrived, and they went into intimacy on the lady’s matrimonial bed.
The husband uncharacteristically decided to come home earlier than usual in spite of what he had told his wife.
He arrived at his home to the rude shock of another man locked up in his bedroom with his wife.
The husband later narrated how he concentrated his efforts on ensuring that he caught the intruder, allowing his wife to flee the scene.
He also raised an alarm, drawing community members who helped him hold down the young man.
The husband claimed he did not lay a finger on the young man, pointing out that it was the community members who beat the man.
The young man was severely battered and tied to the pillar of the house of his lover while he was interrogated about whether he was not aware the lady was married.
He was later dragged before the local chief for settlement. Meanwhile, the husband is demanding the sum of GH₵60,000 (about N8.2m) from the male nursing student as compensation.
He reportedly claimed that he had spent a lot of money on training his wife in school and would want the young man to reimburse him and continue with his relationship with the woman.
Many netizens have condemned the treatment meted out to the young man, with many urging him to approach the police to seek redress.
