The social media scandal involving popular hair vendor Ada Igbo and her estranged husband, Chinedu Igbo, has taken a new turn following fresh allegations from a woman named Triana Ogbonna, who has been acting as the mouthpiece of the husband lately.
Ada Igbo had previously made headlines after publicly announcing the end of her marriage, accusing her husband of impregnating their housemaid, Dorcas.
Pictures of the glamorous family juxtaposed with the picture of Dorcas taken in front of her family’s mud house in the village circulated widely.
Many netizens wondered why such a wealthy man with a beautiful wife would condescend to sleep with a maid who is not even half as beautiful as his wife.
There was widespread outrage online, mainly against Chinedu’s discretion, and sympathy for Ada for putting up with the disrespect meted out to her by her husband.
However, Ogbonna is now suggesting that while Ada may be more beautiful and sophisticated than her maid, she was not always available to her husband, Chinedu.
In a lengthy social media post that has begun circulating online, Ogbonna accused Ada of misleading the public and deliberately omitting key details about the marriage.
Ogbonna accused Ada of commoditising her affection for her husband by allegedly demanding large sums of money from him before allowing him to sleep with her.
She claimed that Ada operated a policy of “money for hand, back for ground” in her marriage to the detriment of her husband.
The writer alleged that Chinedu routinely transferred between ₦500,000 and ₦1 million to Ada before having sex, and questioned why this detail was never shared with her followers.
Supplying CCTV evidence, Ogbonna accused Ada of breaking into their Abuja home to take Chinedu’s passport and those of his children.
The footage, which she posted on her Facebook page, where she has over 23k followers, shows a woman attacking what appears to be the door of the house.
In another video Ogbonna posted, Chinedu showed the damage done to his property by an intruder he later identified as Ada.
He claimed in the video that a bag containing his passport and those of his children was taken away by the intruder.
Ogbonna claimed that Ada relocated to Canada with their children not for safety or opportunity, but to “punish” her husband and gain leverage over him.
The family friend also disputed Ada’s earlier claim that Chinedu was a deadbeat father, alleging instead that she travelled abroad with the children without his consent, seized his passport, and subsequently blocked him across all communication channels.
According to the post, Chinedu was eventually forced to cancel a passport containing a 10-year Canadian visa and apply for a new one.
The writer further alleged that despite refusing reconciliation and insisting the marriage was over, Ada demanded monthly payments of 6,000 Canadian dollars for the children’s upkeep, even while keeping them away from their father.
In a particularly contentious section of the post, the family friend criticised Ada for continuing to use her married name despite publicly rejecting the marriage, urging her to revert fully to her maiden name.
The allegations concluded with a controversial justification of Chinedu’s alleged affair with the housemaid, a stance that has already triggered backlash online, as many readers condemned the attempt to rationalise infidelity.
As of the time of filing this report, Ada Igbo has not publicly responded to the new claims. Chinedu has also remained silent.
The situation continues to generate heated debate on social media, with many calling for caution, noting that the allegations remain unverified and largely one-sided.
